Centennial College is once again recognized as the top-ranked college in Canada for providing paid student internships in applied research, with 571 student researchers engaged in the 2022-23 fiscal year through Centennial Innovates (Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Services - ARIES). Centennial consistently ranks as one of Canada's Top 50 Research Colleges by Research Infosource, placing second in industry research income percentage compared to college research income, seventh in completed research projects, eighth in research partnerships, and 23rd overall in research revenue.
This is the third consecutive year that Centennial has held the national leadership position for student researcher engagement, reflecting the college's unwavering commitment to providing students with relevant experiential learning opportunities that future-proof their career. Through their applied research internship at ARIES, student researchers work directly with industry partners on real-world challenges and develop valuable technical, practical and professional skills for the future of work.
All of Centennial's research projects advance sustainable innovation and are mapped to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), equipping our students to become change-leaders with a sustainability framework and mindset that is increasingly important today. All ARIES student researchers are highly sought after upon graduation, with our Wearable, Interactive and Mobile Technology Access Centre in Health (WIMTACH) boasting a 100% success rate in graduates getting hired.
