Prior to joining the CBE, Mr. Usih spent 27 years with the Toronto District School Board, serving in various roles such as high school math teacher, principal, superintendent of student success, and deputy superintendent.

"I am honoured to have been appointed as the new Superintendent of Schools for the Richmond School District," said Christopher Usih. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to work collaboratively with the board of education, staff, students, families, partner groups, and community members to support an exemplary and inclusive school district. My goal is to create an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive, and where every member of the community feels supported and included."

Mr. Usih is an award-winning educator who holds a master's degree in education and undergraduate credentials in mathematics and computer science. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics education at the University of Toronto.

"The Board of Education would like to express sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the recruitment process, and provided distinct perspectives and valuable feedback," said Tablotney. "We are confident that Mr. Usih's leadership and expertise will help move the Richmond School District forward with integrity, foresight, and a commitment to excellence."
