Board Chair Michael Thomas welcomed Rosey Manhas as SD43's newest trustee, following her by-election win. Ms. Manhas takes the seat vacated by Coquitlam-Maillardville MLA Jennifer Blatherwick upon her election to the provincial legislature.
Rosey Manhas has served as District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) president, vice-president, and health and safety coordinator over the past 5 years. Before that she chaired the PAC at Smiling Creek Elementary. Through her campaign, Ms. Manhas has said she will focus on working with the province to build new schools to support district growth, advocate for improving resources to support education assistants and teachers, and address concerns over bullying.
"The Board of Education looks forward to working with Ms. Manhas", said Board Chair Thomas, "Building on her experience as DPAC Chair we have every confidence that she will be able to get up to speed quickly and bring tremendous value to the board."
