Clearview is pleased to announce that Joy Corpataux has accepted the principalship at Botha School, to begin at the start of the 2023-24 school year.
"We are very happy to have Joy Corpataux take on the role of Principal at Botha School," says Scot Leys, Superintendent Clearview Public Schools. "Joy is a strong communicator and relationship builder and is an active member of her school council and athletic department. I have the utmost confidence that Joy will lead Botha School with clear direction and work collaboratively with staff and parents to advocate for the success of all students. We welcome Joy to our leadership team and look forward to working with her to ensure continuing success for Botha students and the community!"
Corpataux brings with her a student centered approach to teaching, excellent communication skills and strong leadership abilities, as demonstrated through her coaching and rigorous volunteer roles. Most recently, Corpataux has worked as a teacher at Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus, focusing on literacy and French as a second language. During this time, she has taken on several roles such as Community Transitions Lead, Knowledge and Employability Coordinator, and Student Council Lead. Corpataux has extensive volunteer and coaching experience and is currently a Coach for her area's Club Basketball Team and Head Coach of the Girls Junior Varsity Basketball team. Corpataux is also an active volunteer with Therapy Dogs International and has three certified therapy dogs of her own that have accompanied her to school as a support for students. Corpataux believes in enhancing student learning through school trips and recently organized a successful French Trip to Quebec with two other teachers and 26 students.
"I am very excited to be joining Botha school," says Corpataux. "I look forward to working with the amazing staff, students and families of the Botha community to promote academic excellence, foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, and support the growth and development of every student. Small county schools hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to continuing the amazing work at Botha School!
