The Greater Victoria Board of Education is announcing that Victoria Hospice has withdrawn their offer to purchase a 1.3 acre parcel of land on Richmond Road for a new hospice site, effective October 27, 2023.
The Board of Education recognizes that Victoria Hospice has been a leader in providing palliative and end-of-life care since 1980 and wishes the organization success in their ongoing search for a new location.
"Our District and Board continue to support land-based learning opportunities such as an outdoor classroom in partnership with the school community," said Nicole Duncan, Chair, Greater Victoria Board of Education. "We look forward to exploring opportunities in moving forward on important work involving Bowker Creek with Rightsholders, our neighbours and partners including Friends of Bowker Creek, the Bowker Creek Initiative, the Camosun Community Association and our municipal partners."
