Director of Inclusive Learning & Student Well-Being announces departure

Today (April 24) we are announcing the departure of Mr. Kevin Newman, who will be moving on from his role as Director of Inclusive Learning and Student Well-Being with Foothills School Division on July 18, 2023. We congratulate Kevin for accepting the position of Assistant Superintendent with Wolf Creek Public Schools. We want to thank Kevin for his 28 years of dedicated service to the students, families, and school communities of Foothills School Division in his role as teacher, school leader, and system leader.  

Kevin joined FSD in 1995 and since then has held teaching assignments across the division including at École Senator Riley Middle School and École Percy Pegler School; Vice-Principal assignments at École Okotoks Junior High School and Spitzee School; and Principal assignments at Spitzee School and Dr. Morris Gibson School. Since 2019 Kevin has supported all schools in his roles as both Director of Student Learning (JK-6) and Director of Inclusive Learning & Student Well-Being.  

Kevin shares, "Although I am saddened to be departing FSD, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for me in Wolf Creek. I appreciate the years of collaboration and camaraderie I have shared with my Foothills colleagues over my 28 years with the division. I will miss the many conversations and laughs we have shared; I look forward to staying connected and hearing about the many remarkable things that continue to happen throughout the division."
