FSD Welcomes Rita Marie Rahn as Principal at Heritage Heights School

Foothills School Division is pleased to announce that Rita Marie Rahn will be the new Principal at Heritage Heights School for the 2024-2025 school year. Ms. Rahn has a dynamic leadership style that inspires staff and community to be passionate about learning. She brings a range of leadership experiences to the Heritage Heights Husky school community from her 16 years as a school-based leader in Rocky View Schools. Ms. Rahn has shown excellent leadership skills as Principal in 3 schools with varying grade configurations: K-9, K-6, and 5-9. 

Rita Marie has a passion and drive to excel that will benefit Heritage Heights School and the division. She has been intentional and persistent in creating a welcoming and caring school environment as a leader. Ms. Rahn is dedicated to engaging with the school community and meeting the needs of various stakeholders with a commitment to listen respectfully and empathetically. 

A career-long learner, Ms. Rahn holds a Master of Education from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta.

As she prepares to join the team at Heritage Heights Rita Marie shares "It is with great enthusiasm and delight that I join Foothills School Division and the community at Heritage Heights School. With a focus on learning and student growth, I believe we can continue building a school known for helping students reach their potential."

Her deep understanding of successful school leadership will undoubtedly continue the excellent work underway at Heritage Heights School. This appointment follows the announcement that the current principal, Glenn Gibson, will be pursuing a career opportunity in another province at the end of the school year. We are grateful for Mr. Gibson's leadership and wish him well in this new endeavour.
