The Board of Education of School District No. 69 (Qualicum) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Gunn to the position of Information Technology (IT) Manager commencing July 23.
Mr. Gunn is an accomplished senior manager with broad technical expertise and experience in the design, development and delivery of IT services and strategies in a wide range of public and private sector settings.
Most recently, he has been serving as the managing director of infrastructure services for Advanced Solutions based out of Victoria with responsibility for service delivery and technical operations in support of provincial pensions and public sector clients.
Prior to that, he was employed by the Municipality of North Cowichan, ISM/IBM Canada, and Vancouver Island Regional Library in Nanaimo.
Mr. Gunn is no stranger to School District 69, as he is a longtime resident of Nanoose Bay and, in 2014, served as a consultant to District staff on future IT infrastructure directions.
