Grande Yellowhead is pleased to announce that Juha Karén will be the division's Assistant Superintendent of Business Services as of July 1st. Cory Gray, Superintendent of Schools, notes Juha's extensive financial background and corporate depth and breadth of knowledge has been of great assistance to the division,' and he looks forward to Juha's financial guidance as head of Business Services which oversees the services provided by the departments of Finance, Transportation, and Facilities. Juha comes with a broad range of financial experience in the petroleum, food, media, municipal and provincial government sectors. His academic background includes a Master in Business Administration from the Helsinki School of Economics as well as the professional designation of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
"My current position as the Director of Financial Services has provided me with a good working foundation of Grande Yellowhead's financial realities which need to support the educational goals and strategies in place for our students' successes," comments Juha. "I am looking forward to applying that knowledge as well as my previous working experience in continuing to assist the Board of Trustees in their three priority areas of communications, student learning, and leadership and succession planning while administering the business affairs of the division in such a way that provides the best possible educational services with the financial resources available."
