January 24th is Bell Let's Talk Day, where we take time to talk openly about mental health.
High Prairie School Division takes an active role in creating real change by providing education that delves into the five domains of social/emotional learning, including self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, social awareness, and self-management.
Within our wellness framework, active living, nutrition, and mental health supports serve as fundamental pillars. These initiatives represent some of the ways our division prioritizes wholistic student health in our schools.
- Nutritious breakfast and lunch programs,
- Cultural celebrations,
- Community engagement evenings,
- Movement breaks,
- Wellness walks,
- Athletic programs,
- Volunteer opportunities,
- Character programs,
- Wellness clubs,
- Community involvement,
- Student mentorship.
Additionally, each of our schools has a full-time Wellness Coach to aid school staff in supporting student health.
By working together and supporting one another, we can all help to create real, positive change!
