High Prairie School Division is pleased to welcome Katie Doucette as the new Safety Officer. Mrs. Doucette, a graduate of High Prairie School Division, has over 11 years of experience in the safety/emergency medical field. She completed the Emergency Medical Responder program and the Emergency Medical Technician program from Grande Prairie Regional College. Katie has been working in the High Prairie area since 2005 in her field, inclusive of drafting, improving, and implementing safety programs for organizations.
The Safety Officer position is required to collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures. They coordinate all matters related to Occupational Health and Safety and evaluate the effectiveness of current safety programs. They must oversee the school/site emergency response plans and act as the Emergency Operations Centre director for the Division. They also lead the Divison Joint Worksite Health and Safety Committee.
