Carihi students Logan Jones and Elliot Sidlick took the silver medal in 3D animation at the Skills Canada Nationals in Winnipeg.
It was a long road to Winnipeg for these grade 11 students with Jones and Sidlick earning gold in their regional skills competition in March, and then gold in the provincial skills competition in Abbotsford in April.
The national event was held in Winnipeg on May 25-26 featuring competitors from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
The goal of Skills Canada is to encourage students to explore areas of interest in the trades and technology fields. The Canadian skills competitions are an Olympic-style competition which showcases students' technical and leadership skills.
