The Medicine Hat School District No. 76 Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Mr. Mark Davidson has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Schooand Chief Executive Officer effective April 18, 2016.
Mr. Davidson has nearly 25 years of experience in education as classroom teacher, elementary and secondary principal, central office leader, Alberta Education manager, and most recently, as Deputy Superintendent at Peace Wapiti School Division where he was responsible for human resources, principal and staff development, capital planning, student voice and liaison with a family of 11 schools. Mark has collaborated with professional staff to create an instructional model of excellence and lead the development of a system-wide Response to Intervention (RTI) model. A former Edwin Parr award winner, Mark has supported students outside of school through coaching, volunteering with Army Cadets and as a commissioned officer in the primary reserves of the Canadian Forces.
Mr. Davidson attended the University of Calgary, earning a Bachelor of Education Degree in 1994 and a Master of Education in 2000.

Mr. Davidson was born and raised in Alberta. He is a family man with four children (ages 17, 14, 11 and 9) and is married to Holly Davidson.
