Congratulations to Ms. Nicole Mortimore (nee Bruvold) who has accepted the Assistant Principalship at Onoway Elementary School (OES) commencing with the 2024-25 school year.
Ms. Mortimore is no stranger to NGPS, having joined the Division as a teacher at Darwell School in 2016. Since then, Nicole has demonstrated a willingness to serve and connect, including as Darwell School's Inclusive Education Facilitator, a role that has provided her with room to grow as a leader through program planning and building strong relationships with students, caregivers and service providers.
"We are looking forward to Nicole's leadership at Onoway Elementary," commented Superintendent Bird. "As an elementary school teacher and IEF Coordinator, Nicole's experience and background is tailored to this assistant principalship. She will be an asset to the team and their new principal come September."
Ms. Mortimore shares, "I am incredibly honoured and excited to join the team at Onoway Elementary School. I have always admired the close-knit community that makes Onoway unique and it is my privilege to share in collaborating with students, staff, and community members for the success of our students."
Ms. Mortimore has a Bachelor of Education degree, a Masters of Education degree, and a Graduate Certificate in School Leadership, from the University of Alberta.
