Welcome to Michelle Guillou!
Guillou is the new Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources for School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap). She comes to SD83 from School District No. 35 in Langley where she has spent most of her career and where she most recently served as the director of human resources.
Guillou brings a wealth of experience with her both from the school and district level. As part of her HR experience, she has been highly involved in staff development, strategic planning, compassionate systems leadership, and supporting staff wellness. She also demonstrates a sincere commitment to furthering the work of Truth and Reconciliation across the district.
She began her transition to SD83 on August 21, 2023. She is looking forward to meeting with employees of the district as well as our trustees, Rightsholders, stakeholders, and partner groups.
"My move to Salmon Arm brings me closer to my family, as I grew up in Kamloops and spent my summers at Scotch Creek in Saratoga where we had a summer home. My family still lives between Kamloops, the North Shuswap, and Kelowna. I have many fond memories of the Shuswap area and the move feels very much like I am coming home."
She adds her hobbies include reading, gardening, and travelling. "I look forward to making Salmon Arm my home and becoming an active member of the community."
