"This contract is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all parties involved. We look forward to a long-lasting and productive working relationship with CUPE, one that will undoubtedly benefit our staff and, most importantly, our students. Congratulations to all on this significant achievement."
The ratification of this contract underscores the commitment of PSD to ensure that all staff members are supported and valued. By working together, PSD and CUPE Local 5543 aim to create a positive and enriching educational environment for the entire community.
"Following extensive negotiations and collaborative efforts, we are able to announce the successful ratification of our new Collective Agreement," stated Wendy Harman, President, CUPE Local 5543.
"This agreement represents a significant milestone for our Support Staff members as the first Collective Agreement since we became CUPE Local 5543 earlier this year.
This achievement shows the strength and unity of our new Union, and I extend my gratitude to our Negotiating Committee, Union Members, Trustees and our Employer, for their dedication and commitment throughout this process. Together we have shown that collaboration and dialogue can create a level of trust and mutual respect, as we work to improve Health & Safety issues, wages and equality for all our members.
Looking ahead, we remain determined to advocate for the rights and interests of our membership and I believe this agreement is the start of securing a brighter future for our members."
