PSD Hires New Associate Superintendent

Parkland School Division's Superintendent of Schools, Shauna Boyce, is pleased to announce the addition of a new member of the Division's Executive Team. Dr. Meghan Miskolzie has been hired for the role as Associate Superintendent - Student Supports & Services. The position is becoming available as Dr. Dianne McConnell transitions into her retirement at the end of this school year.

"I am so very excited to welcome Dr. Miskolzie to PSD." stated Superintendent Boyce. 

"Dr. Miskolzie has an extensive background as an elementary classroom teacher and other roles connected to Student Services, including district-level Inclusive Education Coordinator, and Associate Superintendent. Her experience combined with her studies in Educational Leadership, and Educational Psychology in Special Education will serve PSD students well."

"It's with mixed emotions that we anticipate saying goodbye to our trusted colleague and friend  Dr. Dianne McConnell. Her many years spent with us in PSD have made an incredible impact in countless children's lives. Her work in inclusion and cohesive communities has made our community better." 

Dr. Meghan Miskolzie - Associate Superintendent Student Supports & Services

Dr. Miskolzie joins Parkland School Division by way of Maskwacîs Education Schools Commission (MESC) where she served as Executive Director of Student Services, which was previously the Associate Superintendent of Student Services during the amalgamation of education authorities in Maskwacîs. She played a key role and led Student Services related planning and development regarding the amalgamation. Prior to that, she was the District-level Inclusive Education Coordinator for Miyo Wahkohtowin Education in Maskwacîs, AB for seven years. She spent time in elementary classrooms in various roles from 2002 - 2009 in Ermineskin and Fort Vermillion.

Dr. Miskolzie earned her Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education with a specialty in Special Education from the University of Alberta in 2002. She completed her Master of Education - Special Education also at the U of A in 2014 and went on to complete a Doctor of Education in Education Leadership through the University of Western Ontario in August, 2020.
