Rocky View Schools' (RVS) Superintendent of Schools Greg Luterbach is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurie Duggan as Associate Superintendent of Human Resources (HR), effective March 4, 2019.
"With more than 15 years experience in the education sector, Laurie brings a strong foundational knowledge of the ever-changing HR landscape, as well as a proven track-record of building and leading cohesive teams," said Luterbach. "Her demonstrated capacity in system and process revitalization, along with her ability to manage widespread organizational change, will contribute to further building a progressive HR function befit for an organization like RVS."
Duggan possesses a broad spectrum of expertise in the areas of strategic HR planning, recruitment, contract administration, labour relations and negotiations, grievance handling and performance management. Her career in the education sector began in Ontario, where she served as Manager of Human Resources Services for the Kenora Catholic School Board. Over the last 10 years, she has held several executive-level HR positions, including her current role as Director of Human Resources for Rundle College.
Prior to joining Rundle College, Duggan held the position of Executive Director of Human Resources for Olds College. In less than two years, she restructured the HR department and implemented the college's first-ever Human Resource Enterprise Management (HRIS) system. Duggan also served as the Senior Director of Operations and Director of Human Resources for Firefly, an Ontario based multi-service agency aimed at supporting and strengthening the health and well-being of children, youth and families, and communities.
Duggan's aptitude for leading informed, large-scale change initiatives is evident by her lengthy list of accomplishments, which include the implementation of multiple HRIS systems and supporting employees through an amalgamation of two school boards.
Duggan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Business and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University. She also holds a Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and a Prosci Change Management Certificate. A proponent of life-long learning, Duggan is currently pursuing a Project Management Professional Certificate via the Project Management Institute.
