BRANDON SCHOOL DIVISION
School Division Receives First Nation Treaty 2 Territory Flag as First Step in Reconciliation and Awareness

September 22, 2022

On Monday September 12, 2022, Scott Lynxleg, Internal/External Relations Keeper, from First Nation Treaty 2 Territory (FNT2T) attended the Brandon School Division Board of Trustees meeting at the Division Office in Brandon to present the Treaty 2 flag to the Division.

Dr. Linda Ross, Chairperson and Jason Gobeil, Vice-Chairperson accepted the flag to start the reconciliation relationship. A request was made by the school division for Treaty 2 Flags to be in all schools in the Division as part of reconciliation and awareness in the Brandon schools.

FNT2T will be working with the schools and Division on reconciliation and awareness of the treaties. This is one positive step in the reconciliation and awareness process. FNT2T would like to thank the Brandon School Division for the request of flags and to continue a path of reconciliation and awareness for all students and staff in the division.
