We are pleased to announce the appointment of Karastin Michalycia as the new Secretary-Treasurer/CFO for the Seine River School Division. Karastin brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence in financial management, strategic planning, and operational leadership.
Karastin's career has been marked by transformational change and a focus on maximizing opportunities while safeguarding the future. She has demonstrated exceptional stewardship in her previous roles, ensuring the effective allocation of resources and implementing robust financial controls. Her proactive and balanced approach has consistently driven organizational success.
In her most recent role as Controller at True North Sports + Entertainment, Karastin oversaw the financial operations of several entities under the True North umbrella.. She led strategic process improvements, automated electronic payment processes, and successfully established financial procedures during a transition to self-operation of food and beverage services.
At Economic Development Regina, Inc., Karastin served as the Chief Finance & Operations Officer, leading finance, operations, IT, and human resources functions. She earned the confidence of the Board of Directors and successfully negotiated cost-saving initiatives, demonstrating her influential leadership and strategic vision.
Karastin's tenure as Vice-President of Finance & Administration at the Regina Pats Hockey Club further honed her leadership skills. She navigated the organization through challenging times, achieved notable financial and operational successes, and was recognized for her problem- solving, coaching, and critical-thinking abilities.
Karastin holds an MBA from Athabasca University, a CPA designation, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Regina. Her commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge aligns perfectly with our values at Seine River School Division.
