Effective July 1, 2022, Dr. Ryan Anderson will be joining Seine River School Division as our new Superintendent / Chief Executive Officer. Ryan will be transitioning to his new position during May and June, as he moves his family from Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

"We know Ryan will be an excellent addition to our dedicated team of educators and support staff who are committed to ensuring that all students can learn and achieve their potential."

Ryan has a B.Ed., M.Ed., and Ph.D. and comes to SRSD with a wealth of education and education leadership knowledge and experience. As an educational leader, Ryan believes that "all students can learn in a truly safe, caring, and inclusive environment". He has always advocated for strong student engagement through learning and support initiatives and was very pleased to see of these types of initiatives very evident in SRSD.
His formal training has broadened his understanding of school system best practices in both leadership and operations. He describes himself as someone who "is solution-focused with respect to implementing and improving operations at all levels of a school system".
Upon joining Seine River School Division, Ryan said that "I am so pleased to be joining a student-centred school division that has a strong track record of success when it comes to supporting its students, families and communities".
Over his 16 years in education, Ryan has been an elementary, junior high and high school teacher, a Vice Principal, a Literacy Coach and a Director of Instructional Services. Most recently he served as the Director People Services for the Maskwacis Education Schools Commission. In addition, he was instrumental in working with four First Nations communities to amalgamate their schools into one Education Authority.
