Miramichi Valley High School teacher, Brandon Savage, was part of the team that worked the Royal Canadian Mint to solve the mystery of the identity of the soldier whose face is portrayed on its 2019 Silver Dollar commemorating the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Mr. Savage, the grandson of a soldier of the North Shore Regiment, helped identify the soldier as Private George Herman Baker, a member of No. 3 Platoon of the North Shore Regiment who landed with at Juno Beach on June 6, 1944.
