New Chief Information Officer/ Senior Network Administrator Appointed

YK1 is pleased to announce the appointment of Anabelle Paulson as Chief Information Officer / Senior Network Administrator at the District Office, effective July 27, 2026.

Anabelle brings five years of public-sector technology experience with the Government of the Northwest Territories, with a background in information systems, data analytics, and technology support. In her most recent role with Information Systems Shared Services, she worked closely with Student Records and YK1 on PowerSchool reporting and data issues, giving her a strong understanding of YK1's systems and needs as she steps into the role. She has also taken on acting management responsibilities, supporting her team through day-to-day operations, vendor relationships, and hiring.

Anabelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Information Systems and Analytics, Cum Laude, from the University of Ottawa, and is bilingual in English and French. She is skilled at translating complex technical challenges into clear, practical solutions for the people who rely on them a quality that will serve YK1 schools and staff well.

A Yellowknife resident since 2021, Anabelle enjoys biking, running, and settling in with a good book. Please join us in welcoming Anabelle to the YK1 team. We look forward to the leadership, expertise, and perspective she brings to our technology environment and the broader district community.
