At the meeting of the Regina Board of Education on September 7, 2021, current trustees welcomed and thanked former trustee Aleana Young for her eight years of service with the Board. Chairperson Adam Hicks presented her with a plaque reflecting the school division's Shared Values: I Belong; I Am Responsible; I Want To Know and I Respect.
Trustees who worked with Young, as well as new trustees to the Board, spoke of her contributions to the school division, to board governance and to the Regina community. Young ran for provincial office in 2020 and is now a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.
