CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIC DU NORD-EST DE L'ONTARIO
New Vice-Principals in the Nipissing Region

February 8, 2023

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Vice-Principals at North Bay and Sturgeon Falls elementary schools.

It is with great pleasure that Ms. Natasha Lessard will assume the position of Interim Vice-Principal at  École publique Jeunesse Active in Sturgeon Falls until the end of this school year and will then assume the position of Vice-Principal at  École publique Héritage in North Bay in August 2023.

Ms. Natalie Davis will be the vice-principal of Jeunesse Active as of the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

This smooth transition will ensure the well-being and academic success of students and staff and to allow CSPNE to fill the positions left vacant by these new assignments.

A teacher since 2003, Ms. Lessard has been working as part of the CSPNE team since 2019, primarily at École publique Héritage in North Bay and as an Identity Development Coordinator since September 2021 as a member of the systemic team.  Over the years, she has demonstrated great leadership and community engagement that will benefit the entire North Bay school and broader community.

This appointment follows the announcement that Pauline Lacroix, Héritage's current Vice-Principal, will be beginning  a well-deserved retirement this July.

Ms. Davis has been part of the CSPNE educational landscape since 2005 when she held positions as a teacher, designated teacher, consultant and educational leader in the North Bay and Parry Sound area.  In order to accompany her students at École publique aux Quatre-Vents in Parry Sound until the end of the current school year, Ms. Davis will assume her new duties at École publique Jeunesse Active at the beginning of the new school year.  Her desire to collaborate and her commitment to providing a quality educational experience make her a motivated candidate to contribute positively to the French public school environment in the Sturgeon Falls area.

As mentioned above, until Ms. Davis begins her role as Vice-Principal, Ms. Lessard will serve in this position on an interim basis. The position of Vice-Principal at Jeunesse Active was left vacant when Ms. Mélissa Pépin was appointed to the position of Principal last December.

The CSPNE would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms. Lessard and Ms. Davis on their new professional adventure and to thank Ms. Pauline Lacroix for all her work within the CSPNE family and to wish her a retirement that will reflect her new aspirations.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
