CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIC DU NORD-EST DE L'ONTARIO
National Recognition for CSPNE

November 7, 2023

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) receives national recognition for the quality of a marketing and communications project implemented to support visibility and a sense of belonging to its elementary and secondary schools.

CSPNE received national recognition at the Bravo! Awards Gala held in conjunction with the national conference of the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE), held in Montreal from October 27 to 29, 2023.  The Bravo! Awards recognize and honour the innovative and exemplary work of Canada's school boards in public relations, communications, marketing and engagement.

The CSPNE's Communications Department received an Award of Merit in the "Coup de Coeur" category, confirming the excellence of the project to modernize the visual identities of all its schools, which recognizes the quality of education and the pride of the school community and wider community in choosing a French-language public school in Northeastern Ontario.

According to Director of Communications Guylaine Scherer, this is an ambitious project that is necessary to represent the excellence of the education system, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2023.  "We are delighted and honoured to receive this award from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education.   The CSPNE communications team and its expert collaborators are proud to bring new life to our school identities.  This initiative was a priority to ensure a sustainable and credible positioning in the educational milieu and within the communities served by our schools.  I would like to thank the team members involved for their commitment and the overall vision of the project."

"We are fortunate to be able to count on the expertise of a communications team that is committed to the outreach and success of the schools and the School Board.  It's important to raise awareness and understanding of the essential management role that communications professionals play in the education landscape," adds Yves Laliberté, Director of Education.

The CACE BRAVO! Awards program is the only pan-Canadian awards program specifically designed to recognize excellence in school communications.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
