CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIC DU NORD-EST DE L'ONTARIO
National Recognition for CSPNE

November 21, 2022

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is receiving national recognition for a marketing and communications project it implemented to support the vitality of its high schools.

The CSPNE was recognized at the Bravo! Awards Gala held during the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE) National Conference in Victoria, October 22-24, 2022.  The Bravo! Awards recognize and honour the innovative and exemplary work of Canada's school boards in public relations, communications, marketing and engagement.

The CSPNE Communications Department received an Award of Merit in the "Communications Project" category, which recognizes the excellence of the "High School Vitality" project in providing systemic support to CSPNE high schools in their many initiatives to build a sense of belonging and pride within the school and broader community.

According to Director of Communications, Guylaine Scherer, cross-sectoral collaboration is an essential and pervasive element at CSPNE. "We are delighted and honoured to receive this award from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education.   The CSPNE communications team is proud to provide public relations support to all of our schools and departments at the board level, maximizing the reach of the good work of the schools and CSPNE through the engagement of students and staff."

"We are fortunate to have a communications team that provides effective communication to stakeholders in all areas of CSPNE.  It is important to increase awareness and understanding of the critical management role that communications professionals play in the education landscape," said Director of Education Yves Laliberté.

The CACE BRAVO! Awards program, presented by SchoolBundle, is the only national awards program specifically designed to recognize excellence in school communications.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
