District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) held its' organizational meeting on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019. The purpose of the organizational meeting is to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair for the Board for the following year.
Bob Brush was acclaimed as Board Chair, and Dennis Draves was acclaimed as Vice-Chair. Mr. Brush and Mr. Draves will serve as Chair and Vice-Chair for their third consecutive term.
"It a distinct pleasure to have been selected by the Trustees as Chair of the Board for another term. The Chair plays an important role for the Board and I am proud to continue to serve our communities in this capacity. It is a pleasure to work with Director Dye and her senior administration team. We are entering another exciting year and will continue to focus on student achievement and well-being", said returning Chair Brush.
"I thank the Board of Trustees for their confidence in me. I would like to thank the Trustees and all of the staff at the Board for all that they do for students. I look forward to serving the Board as Vice-Chair for another year", added Vice-Chair Draves.
The Chair and Vice-Chair serve a one-year term and are elected each year during the first meeting in December.
