Gino is an accomplished Catholic educator and leader at HCDSB who has served as Vice Principal and Principal in both elementary and secondary panels, and most recently as Principal at the Thomas Merton Centre for Adult and Continuing Education.
"I sincerely thank the HCDSB for giving me the opportunity to serve my school communities as both an educator and leader," commented Gino Montanari. "I want to thank the many staff who worked with me in creating school environments that were not only centres of academic excellence, but also places where students felt welcome, included, safe, and loved."
Principal of the Year Award was instituted by CPCO in 2000 and is presented annually to Principals or Vice-Principals (Practising Associates) for their outstanding school and community leadership. The award recipients are selected by their local Principal / Vice-Principal Associations.
"Gino's nomination for this prestigious award demonstrates the impact he has made within our educational community," says John Klein, Director of Education. "It highlights the recognition and affirmation by his peers of Gino's outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence in Catholic education. Congratulations, Gino, on this well-deserved acknowledgment of your exceptional leadership!"
