St. Mary's College Knights Capture X-Country

St. Mary's College won the Sault Ste. Marie Overall Aggregate Cross Country Championship on Tuesday for the first time in its history.

The Knights also won the overall Girls Championship thanks to victories in the Novice and Junior divisions.

In the novice girls division, Abigail Jaremko won gold, followed closely by teammate Tru Toms.  Keira Berlingieri also cracked the top five with a 4th place finish.  The Knights Kaitlyn Atwell placed 6th, Talia Wardell 11th, and Maija Bowden 12th.  All six will compete at the NOSSA meet.

The Knights won the Junior Girls Championship with Tori Carbone claiming the gold in decisive fashion.  Emily Edgar was the silver medalist while Elizabeth Gavey placed 6th, and Lindsay Sarlo 9th.  All four have qualified for NOSSA.

In the Senior division, Keira Lamming finished 6th.  Amelia DiCerbo and Veronica Allard will join Lamming at the NOSSA championships.

On the boys side, the Knights won the Novice division title with Ethan Agawa winning gold by over a minute.  Topher Barsanti took the bronze medal.  Joshua Lamming finished 6th, Oliver Brown 8th, Abel Zachariah 13th, Brycen Diggins 19th.  All will advance to NOSSA.

In Junior Boys division, Kiran Juma won gold and Ben Norbo the silver to claim NOSSA berths.

In the Senior division, Marcus DiCerbo placed 6th.  He will be joined at the NOSSA championships by teammates Jack Weurdemann, McKena Cowan, Adam Morgenstern and Alan Abdulkadir.

The NOSSA Cross Country meet is scheduled for Wednesday, October 27th.  It will take play on St. Joseph Island at the Mountainview Ski and Walking Trails in Jocelyn Township.
