Many students in our school division were beneficiary of a generous donation made by the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan (MN-S). The donation of 204 Chromebooks was provided to support the achievement of the educational outcomes of Métis Nation youth and students.
Below is a message from the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan Education Department. This donation is intended for the school-aged student(s) to use. There were limited numbers provided to the school division to distribute to the families of students that have self-declared Métis children.
There were 204 Chromebooks donated to be distributed. All self-declared Métis student(s)/family names were entered into a computer-generated random draw. The successful recipients will be contacted by their school in the coming week. There was 204 drawn with a limit of one per family. The Chromebook is intended for the children in the family to use for educational purposes and is a gift from the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan.
Taanishii from Métis Nation-Saskatchewan:
The Métis Government recognizes the challenges presented by the COVID Pandemic. With school closures, our children and youth have experienced fewer learning opportunities. In response, Métis Nation-Saskatchewan has purchased Chromebooks to help our children continue on their educational journey. School divisions are making plans on how to ensure Métis children and youth access these computers. Some Chromebooks will be kept at the school and others may be used at home. If you are a Métis citizen, please contact your school division to see how the Chromebooks will be shared and implemented to enrich your child's learning outcomes.
Maarsii and stay safe,
Métis Nation-Saskatchewan Education Department
