Congratulations to Danny Di Lorenzo, Chair of the Niagara Catholic District School Board, who was acclaimed as Director of District 11 (Niagara/Brant-Haldimand) of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association (OCSTA). Chair Di Lorenzo was nominated for the position by fellow trustee Jim Marino; and the nomination was seconded by Vice-Chair Rhianon Burkholder.

"My guiding principle as a trustee is simple but powerful," Chair Di Lorenzo said in response to his acclamation. "Catholic education is a gift that we must protect and foster. Every child is a gift from God, and I firmly believe that no child should ever be left behind. As trustees, it is our duty to ensure that every student is included, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed. In my capacity as a newly elected Director of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association, I am committed to continuing this work, ensuring that our schools remain places of faith, learning, and inclusion for generations to come".
Chair Di Lorenzo was elected as a trustee representing Fort Erie, Port Colborne, and Wainfleet in 2022 after decades of service as a teacher, vice-principal, and principal.
"It has been an incredible honour for me to serve in this role and am I grateful to have been elected Chair of the Board for the past three years."
Congratulations, Chair Di Lorenzo! We are grateful to have Niagara Catholic's voice at the director table at OCSTA.
