The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of two new principals for the 2018-19 school year.
Ryan Kranz will become the Principal at St. Mary's Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Deep River, while Natalie Marchment will take up the reins at Cathedral Catholic Elementary School in Pembroke when classes resume in the fall.
"We are excited to welcome Ryan and Natalie to their new roles in the Board. We're confident that students and staff at their respective schools will continue to thrive under their leadership," said Jaimie Perry, RCCDSB Director of Education.
Mr. Kranz began his teaching career with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board in 2005. From 2007 to 2016 he held various roles at Bishop Smith Catholic High School. He became the Acting Vice Principal (VP) at St. Joseph's Catholic School, Arnprior, in September 2016, and permanent VP at Our Lady of Sorrows, Petawawa, in September 2017. He replaces Cheryl St.-Élier who is retiring after 23 years with the Board, the last 15 as Principal of St. Mary's.
Ms. Marchment has been with the RCCDSB since 2004 when she began as a teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Petawawa for two years and then moved to teach at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Pembroke. In September of 2016, she was appointed Vice Principal at St. Francis of Assisi. Ms. Marchment takes over from Karen Kenny who is retiring after 31 years with the Board, beginning in 1987 at Holy Name School and culminating her career with the last six years as Principal at Cathedral Catholic School.
The re-deployment of St. Joseph's, Arnprior vice-principal Katie Scott to Our Lady of Sorrows will fill one of the vice-principal vacancies. A selection process will take place to fill the vacant vice-principal positions at St. Joseph's and St. Francis of Assisi.
"I would like to thank Cheryl and Karen for their years of service and their many contributions. Ryan and Natalie are dedicated Catholic leaders who are focused on the spiritual development and academic achievement of our students. I believe they are excellent choices to fill the positions," said Dave Howard, RCCDSB Chair.
