THAMES VALLEY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Ministry approves tender and additional funding for Eagle Heights PS expansion

May 17, 2023

Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) has been approved by the Ministry of Education to issue a tender for a new expansion at Eagle Heights Public School. The Ministry has also provided over $2 million of additional funding towards the project.

Eagle Heights PS was originally built for 680 students. It currently requires 18 portable classrooms to accommodate more than 1,000 students.

The now $9.2 million expansion project will provide space for an additional 300 students. This includes renovations to increase the school's library and administration area.

Community information sessions on architectural designs for the project were completed in 2022. The estimated completion date for the project is January 2025, pending Ministry and municipal approvals.

"Thames Valley District School Board is grateful to the Ministry of Education for supporting the Eagle Heights Public School expansion project," said the Thames Valley District School Board's Director of Education Mark Fisher. "This much needed renovation will help address enrolment pressure facing schools in West London due to unprecedented growth in the city. As one of the fastest growing communities in the board, we look forward to welcoming new families, and introducing them to the many unique programs we offer in Thames Valley."

"The funding for a new addition and internal renovations at Eagle Heights Public School in London is great news for our community," said Rob Flack, MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London. "This investment will ensure families and students have access to a quality learning environment in the years ahead."
