Thames Valley's General Legal Counsel and Executive Officer, Ali Chahbar, has been appointed to the London Police Services Board and took his Oath of Office on December 13, 2021.

Before joining Thames Valley as legal counsel in 2018, Executive Officer Chahbar was a litigation lawyer in private practice in London and regularly appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court of Canada and Ontario Court of Appeal.
Executive Officer Chahbar has been recognized as one of London's Top 20 Under 40, and is actively involved in the community, having served on the Boards of the Boys and Girls Club of London, the Elgin Middlesex London Crime Stoppers, and Kids Kicking Cancer.
"I have had the privilege of knowing Mr. Chahbar for many years," said police board Chair Susan Toth. "He is a dedicated Londoner, a brilliant lawyer, and will be an asset to the Board and community."
Executive Officer Chahbar's father, former London city Councillor Ab A. Chahbar, also served as a member of the London Police Services Board from 2006 to 2009.
