Retired Superintendent of Education Peggy Blair has been named a recipient of the 2025 OPSOA Distinguished Leadership Award.
The Ontario Public Supervisory Officers' Association (OPSOA) is a professional organization representing Superintendents and Directors of Education from Ontario's 31 English language public school boards.

The OPSOA Distinguished Leadership Award is presented annually to a member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in public education, particularly recognizing leadership that intentionally impacts the creation of equitable outcomes for all students. The candidate is also a leader in a number of OPSOA initiatives and is valued by colleague members and by the education community for that leadership.
Superintendent Blair leadership has been transformative for students, families, and communities who have been historically and currently underserved.
As one example of her many accomplishments, she brought Project SEARCH to the Upper Grand DSB. By championing this initiative, she has provided students with disabilities the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and employability skills, significantly enhancing their future employment prospects.
Blair began her career as Superintendent in September 2011 with the Avon Maitland DSB. She then transitioned to the Hamilton Wentworth DSB in 2018 and finished her career in the Upper Grand DSB where she retired in December 2024.
Blair was honoured at an OPSOA Leadership Luncheon on Thursday April 3, 2025.
