We are pleased to celebrate the announcement of Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Trustee Kathleen Woodcock as President of the Ontario Public School Boards' Association (OPSBA) for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years.
Kathleen is in her sixth term as Trustee for Waterloo/Wilmot and has served as WRDSB chair, vice-chair and past chair. She has previously served two years as OPSBA's First Vice-President.
"My commitment to public education as a cornerstone of democracy remains strong," said Woodcock in the OPSBA announcement. "I am passionate about student achievement and well-being and dedicated to improving public education for all students, families and communities and look forward to working with our member boards to ensure their voices are heard at Queen's Park."
"We are excited that Trustee Kathleen Woodcock has been elected as President of OPSBA," said WRDSB Chair Joanne Weston. "She will represent the interests of all school boards across the province, including the WRDSB, in her new role as she continues to advocate for a public education system that supports the academic achievement and well-being of all students."
