Waterloo Region District School Board is excited to open a new addition at Laurelwood Public School for the 2024-25 school year.
The Ontario government provided an investment of $6.4 million for construction of the new school addition in Waterloo, which includes 184 elementary student spaces.
"We are excited to welcome Laurelwood Public School students back to school. The new addition at the school provides engaging learning spaces for students and supports the growing community," said jeewan chanicka, Director of Education, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). "We appreciate the provincial government's investment in enhancements for WRDSB schools to support student achievement and well-being."
This is one of the many capital projects and improvements to WRDSB schools completed prior to the start of the 2024-25 school year.
