It is with great pleasure I announce the appointment of Dr. Odette Côté as Director General to Champlain Regional College effective August 1, 2016.
Dr. Côté holds a doctorate in Environmental Planning and a Masters in Architecture from the Université de Montréal.
She began her career in the field of Interior Design, managing a number of significant projects in both the private and public sectors. Dr. Côté began her teaching career in 1991, first in the private sector and then transitioning into the public cégep network. Dr. Côté's teaching experience expands beyond the typical classroom. She has also taught on-line courses, and while employed at Cégep Saint-Jean-sur- Richelieu, she developed and managed several international projects.

In 2011, Dr. Côté joined Vanier College as Faculty Dean for Social Science, Commerce, Arts & Letters, and Music for both the regular day and continuing education sectors. This included responsibility for the management of the related academic programs, departments, resources, and teaching activities for 3,600 students, 20 coordinators, and 250 teachers.
Most recently, Dr. Côté joined Cégep de Thetford in 2014 as Director of Studies. In addition to her previous experience, the projects under her responsibility included, but were not limited to, the consultation and implementation of the 2015-2020 strategic plan and student success plan, implementation of the Quality Assurance System and the management of a balanced budget, all the while ensuring services to students were maintained. As Director of Studies, she was responsible for three major sectors: regular day programs, continuing education, and services for students.
Dr. Côté values people and the communities she serves as demonstrated in her leadership style and her involvement on numerous boards and committees. Always sensitive to her environment, Dr. Côté continues to seek new learning opportunities for students and ways to optimize processes within the college by successfully mobilizing and engaging those around her. As teacher and manager, Dr. Côté has always placed student success at the center of the college mission.
