Trustees for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board were updated on the progress of the new Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School, Sarnia and St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School in Chatham. At tonight's Board meeting, the latest episode of the Board's Action News Updates, featuring student reporters, was released.

"It is exciting to see these projects coming to completion," says John Van Heck, Chair of the Board. "This is a thrilling time in the history of our Board, as we look forward to two brand new schools opening in the same year."
"The pace of work as these projects near completion is staggering," says Scott Johnson, Director of Education. "Every time I visit the schools, I am astounded at the changes that have taken place in these impressive buildings."
Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School will be turned over to the Board next week. That's when Board staff will set up furniture, equipment and technology. The school opens to students and staff after March Break, on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Construction at St. Teresa of Calcutta in Chatham will be wrap up later this spring. The Board will have the summer to complete the move-in and set-up of furniture, equipment and technology. The school opens to students and staff in September 2024.
The current Gregory A. Hogan on Hogan Drive will undergo interior renovations beginning this spring. The refurbished and upgraded school will reopen as the new Sacred Heart Catholic School in September 2025.
