The EdCan Network is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathleen Lane as the EdCan Network's new Executive Director. Kathleen has been an integral member of the EdCan leadership team for the past two years, and previously served as the Program Director for Well at Work by EdCan and played a key role in the creation and implementation of the 2023-25 strategic plan.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are excited to welcome Kathleen into the role of Executive Director," said Claire Guy, EdCan Network Chair. "We are fortunate to have her passion and dedication and we look forward to her continued visionary leadership."
Kathleen will lead the implementation of EdCan's strategic plan, which prioritizes healthier K-12 workplaces that allow for better outcomes for everyone in K-12 education. "My goal is to build our collective capacity to create a flourishing K-12 education sector," said Kathleen. "Our pan-Canadian K-12 workplace wellbeing consultations have highlighted the complexity of the current situation. We know that addressing complex challenges requires collaborative action, an understanding of diverse perspectives, and adaptive approaches that respond to emerging evidence. While our current focus is on enhancing wellbeing in Canadian K-12 education, the process of co-designing solutions will strengthen our sector's ability to respond to emerging issues."
The EdCan Network is an impartial, bilingual organization connecting Canadian K-12 education professionals and researchers. As we activate our strategic plan our focus will be on strengthening partnerships at all levels, amplifying stories of success, and supporting system leaders with research-informed resources, learning opportunities, and Well at Work advisors' services.
