COUNCIL OF NOVA SCOTIA UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS
Two More Nova Scotia Universities Launch on the ARUCC MyCredsTM National Network

December 19, 2023

On December 18, the Council of Nova Scotia University Presidents (CONSUP) announces the launch of Acadia University and St. Francis Xavier University on the ARUCC MyCreds National Network. The number of participating institutions across Nova Scotia has now risen to six.

Dalhousie University, University of King's College, Mount Saint Vincent University and Université Sainte-Anne were the first to launch. Cape Breton University, NSCAD University, Saint Mary's University and the Nova Scotia Community College are expected to be part of the MyCreds Network in the coming months.

This province-wide innovation and collaboration in Nova Scotia is a priority project emerging from CONSUP's PSE Solutions strategy. Through this strategy, PSE institutions in Nova Scotia will work together to improve student experience, modernize systems and processes, and increase competitiveness in the higher education sector.

Leadership, guidance, and funding support from CONSUP and its partners at the Department of Advanced Education and EduNova are critical to the shared success of this initiative.

"As Minister, I'm pleased that more post-secondary institutions have joined the MyCredsTM network and will realize the significant benefits and that more students will be able to access their academic credentials through the MyCreds platform," said Brian Wong, Nova Scotia's Minister of Advanced Education. "My department will continue to make investments in programs and partnerships that will provide students with a positive post-secondary education experience."

David C. Dingwall, President, Cape Breton University and Chair, CONSUP and Dr. Rob Summerby-Murray, President, Saint Mary's University and Vice-Chair, CONSUP commended the continued effort, work, and leadership institutions have shown through the MyCreds onboarding process. "By investing in this new technology, these schools have clearly demonstrated their commitment to their students and to continuing to deliver an exceptional student experience."

In addition to their roles in CONSUP, Presidents Dingwall and Summerby-Murray are members of EduNova's Board of Directors. "We look forward to the remaining schools in Nova Scotia, including ours, becoming part of MyCreds . We can clearly see the benefit this digital credential system will have on streamlining, modernizing, and future proofing our processes around official document sharing." They concluded by noting that, "Having all public post-secondary institutions in Nova Scotia collaborate and innovate together in this way is an important demonstration of our collective commitment to improving student experience."
