Dollard-des-Ormeaux School located in Courcelette, Québec, in partnership with the Académie Prodigi, have started a project titled DDO Loops Into Coding, which will be in place until the end of the school year.
This project will provide all students in the school, from kindergarten to secondary five, with training of a minimum of two hours in programming provided by industry professionals. Students will learn new concepts, how to work in teams, how to share their ideas, how to persevere when the program is not functioning as they hoped and they will learn how to improve their problem-solving skills. The project also provides for the purchase of technological equipment that will remain the property of the school for years to come! Conferences will also be offered to parents and teachers to raise awareness of the digital revolution we are facing.
This project could not see the light of day without the dedicated work of:
- Mr. Stéphane Lagacé, Principal of Dollard-des-Ormeaux School
- Ms. Lucie Gingras, Vice-Principal of Dollard-des-Ormeaux School
- Ms. Valérie Lebel, Resource Teacher at Dollard-des-Ormeaux School
- Mr. Mathieu Charbonneau, Director at the Académie Prodigi
- Ms. Madeleine Bousquet, Académie Prodigi
