FEAS Research Day brings undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, representatives from government and funding agencies, and industry professionals together in an event that showcases the innovative research activities conducted by FEAS experts.
Research Day featured academia, industry and government experts discussing key challenges and opportunities in:
- Industry 4.0 and sustainability
- Energy supply and electrification
- Artificial intelligence and mobility systems
- Pathways toward net-zero emissions
This year's Research Day included a keynote address from Indrani Butany, President and Chief Executive Officer, Elexicon Energy Inc. A strategic leader in the energy sector, Butany shared insights on clean energy transformation, the transition to a net-zero economy, regulatory innovation, and equity, diversity and inclusion.
The Organizing Committee chaired by Dr. Atef Mohany, Professor and Research Excellence Chair, included the faculty's Department Chairs, Dr. Martin Agelin-Chaab, Dr. Mohamed El-Darieby, Dr. Jennifer McKellar, and Dr. Greg Rohrauer.
Speakers from Ontario Tech included Jennifer Freeman, Executive Director, Research Services, and Dr. Hossam Kishawy, Dean, FEAS.
A poster session highlighted student research, and there were networking opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
