Chair's Award for Service Excellence - Trustee Sister Shelley Lawrence
Sister Shelley Lawrence has been posthumously awarded the Chair's Service Excellence Award for her incredible dedication to Catholic education. Throughout 25 years, Sister Shelley's compassionate work as a Chaplain within the OCSB positively impacted many lives - students, staff and families alike, leaving an enduring legacy. Her commitment to the Ottawa Catholic School Board and the Society of the Sacred Heart continues to serve as an inspiration to all. Sister Sheila Smith graciously accepted the award on her behalf, upholding Sister Shelley's timeless belief, "For the sake of one child." We are honoured to celebrate such a remarkable individual and her profound contributions to our community.
Vice-Chair's Award for Community Partnership - Catholic Centre for Immigrants
The Catholic Centre for Immigrants received the Vice-Chair's Community Partnership Award in recognition of its incredible 65 years of service to newcomers in Ottawa! The CCI has played a pivotal role in helping immigrants seamlessly integrate into their new communities by offering steadfast support in settlement, employment, and education. Myriam Mekni, the Executive Director, graciously accepted the award and highlighted the profound and positive impact of CCI's partnership with the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
