The TMU School of Medicine will use a holistic admissions approach to identify students with the capabilities, skills and attributes required to excel in medicine.
Applications for the TMU School of Medicine's inaugural MD class are now open via the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS) following the granting of preliminary accreditation. The application window will remain open until Thursday, December 2 at 4:30 p.m. ET. Application requirements, selection process details and answers to frequently asked questions are available on the School of Medicine website.
The TMU School of Medicine will use a multifaceted, holistic approach to identify students who will excel in the medical profession. Admission is based on academic performance, completion of an undergraduate degree and extracurricular and professional experience. The MCAT is not required, and the school welcomes applications from prospective students from any academic discipline.
Founded on equity, diversity and inclusion, decolonization and reconciliation, the school's admissions process will identify applicants who have lived experience and/or are committed to advancing these principles. The admissions process is also designed to admit equity-deserving students and to identify and select applicants interested in primary care practice, particularly in medically underserved areas such as the Brampton/Peel Region and surrounding communities.
