Suncrest College recently hosted two Suncrest College Showcase events, bringing together key government and municipal representatives to discuss opportunities on how we can build stronger communities through higher education. The events took place last week, in Melfort and Yorkton, drawing participation from Members of Parliament, the Minister of Advanced Education, local MLAs, and mayors.
The Suncrest College Showcase events focused on highlighting the economic and social impact the college has on its communities, region, and province. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions on how to work together to support student success, enhance our relationship, and increase communication to strengthen our region. The event also provided an opportunity to highlight Suncrest College key programs and strategic initiatives designed to meet the evolving demands of industries.
"As a post-secondary institution, we recognize the critical role we play in developing a skilled workforce and fostering economic growth," said Alison Dubreuil, President and CEO of Suncrest College. "These events provided a valuable opportunity to collaborate with government leaders to ensure Suncrest College is part of the workforce development solutions and that our programs continue to align with industry/partner needs."
In addition to discussions, guests participated in guided tours of the college facilities, offering firsthand insight into the programs and resources that support students in their educational and career pursuits.
As part of 2025-2030 Strategic Planning engagement, Suncrest College has been actively engaging with First Nation and Metis partners in their communities and having similar dialogue.
Suncrest College remains committed to working alongside community and industry partners to adapt and innovate, ensuring that students receive the education and training needed to thrive in today's workforce.
