Semi-Finalists Announced for the Science Fair Foundation BC's Seventh-Annual Youth Innovation Showcase

October 27, 2025

The Science Fair Foundation BC announced the top 20 Semi-Finalists for the 2025 Youth Innovation Showcase. 10 projects from the 12-15 age category, and 10 students from the 16-19 age category, will now compete for a grand prize of $5,000 in each age group. The selected students will now prepare for the next judging phase, where they will present their projects to a panel of experts before the Finalists are announced.

"The scale of submissions for the 2025 Youth Innovation Showcase continues to grow every year," said Sarah Prade, Executive Director of The Science Fair Foundation BC. "The talent and innovative thinking demonstrated by these young innovators is inspiring. We're excited to begin the next round of judging and witness how their ideas continue to evolve into ways they can help their communities and beyond."

The Youth Innovation Showcase empowers young innovators to develop creative solutions for real-world challenges. It provides a platform for students to transform theoretical concepts into tangible impacts, connecting them with mentorship opportunities and real-time feedback from industry and academic leaders. Participants gain invaluable feedback from experts, hone their soft skills like pitching and public speaking, and explore the possibilities of a career in STEM.
