Application forms are available online at www.bramptonfire.com and must be submitted to firelife@brampton.ca. The application period closes on April 30, 2019.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and one applicant will be selected for the bursary, valued at $1,000, to be paid directly towards course enrolment.
Brampton Fire and Emergency Services created the George Hitchcock Memorial Endowment Fund in 2014 in honour of the late George Hitchcock, who served in the Brampton Fire Service for 33 years. He was pivotal in establishing the Fire/Life Safety Education Division, which is instrumental in providing fire safety education to thousands of Brampton residents. He inspired and encouraged others to consider careers in fire services.
