351-B80-HR Youth and Adjustment (45 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 1 hour of lab and 3 hours of availability per week)
Students will learn of strategies and techniques to help youths aged 0 to 18 years of age. Students will identify the various psychological and social situations that led to a socio-emotional maladjustment. Students will develop intervention plans that address the situation, and help the clients express themselves, enhance their social skills, gain self-confidence, and take responsibility.
351-C20-HR Reintegrating Society (60 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 2 hours of lab and 4 hours of availability per week)
Students will learn strategies and techniques to evaluate and facilitate their clients' ability to re-enter society and/or the workplace. Students will learn of many government agencies, community organizations, resources, laws, and policies that exist to ensure and facilitate re-integration. Students will learn to empower their clients towards action and autonomy.
351-A40-HR Fieldwork 1 (5 hours per week)

Students in Fieldwork 1 will spend one full day a week working in a setting with a client group, when and where possible. Two hours a week will be dedicated to small learning communities (students with similar clienteles will be regrouped) where a debriefing process with the course instructor will take place. This extra hour is also meant to help students better relate to their working experience and to consolidate their skills. Debriefing is meant to help students identify their strengths and gaps in knowledge and skills, help them develop a support network with their peers and the teacher, and assist them in gradually putting into practice, under supervision, of their analytical, helping, and intervention skills with a client.
351-B60-HR Fieldwork 2 (12 hours per week)

Students in Fieldwork 2 will spend two full days a week working in a setting with a client group, when and where possible. In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes, labs and fieldwork; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request; participation in pedagogical days organized by the College; participation in departmental meetings and required activities. May also include departmental coordination; program committee coordination; special support and supervision activities; participation in program activities; program development; implementation and evaluation; and institutional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Special Care Counselling or a related discipline (Social Work, Psychology, etc.).
- A minimum of three (3) years of practical and related experience.
- Experience in post-secondary/adult learning would be considered an asset.
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written is required.
- Knowledge of Special Care Counselling within Québec health and social services is an asset.

SALARY RANGE:42,431.00$ - 91,023.00$
